Libavcodec is part of the FFMpeg package. It's not finding the package information file. Do a:

locate libavcode.pc

If it's found you have a problem with the path setup on your system. Ifit's not, you have a version of FFMpeg that's too old. I fought withthis little bit myself. I had to update to the testing version ofFFMpeg on Gentoo to make it work.
